Bryan Clauson Dead At 27: Sprint Driver Dies After Horrifying Crash

Sadly, driver Bryan Clauson has died from his injuries after his nasty crash during the Belleville Midget Nationals. He was just 27 years old.Bryan Clauson died on Sumday, August 7, in Kansas just one day after a crash on the track that left him in critical condition. The announcement that Bryan had been killed wasn’t made un the following morning on Monday, August 8, reports USA Today.

“This is truly one of the darkest days in the 60-year history of the United States Auto Club,” USAC CEO Kevin Miller said in a statement. “Not only have we lost one of our greatest USAC champions, we’ve lost a true ambassador for all of motor sports.”

Bryan’s accident occurred in between turns three and four on the track, when his car climbed a guardrail and flipped repeatedly until it stopped in the middle of the track. In the video above it appears that another car may have crashed into Bryan’s before it finally stopped moving, though that remains unconfirmed. As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, it took emergency crews nearly a half an hour just to get Bryan out of the car.

Just one night before the crash that killed Bryan, he was involved in another crash on the exact same track. The following morning he tweeted that he had taken a “tough hit,” but that he already had a new hot rod ready and waiting to go for the Saturday night race.

Sadly, Bryan and his fiancee, Lauren Stewart, were planning a February 2017 wedding a the time of his death. Our thoughts remain with the family, friends and fans of Bryan during this difficult time.
