Bow down, now and always.Céline Dion will receive the Icon Award at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards in honor of her lifetime achievements as a world-renowned singer. She is the fifth singer to receive the award behind Neil Diamond, Jennifer Lopez, Prince, and Stevie Wonder, and is slated to perform a rendition of Queen’s “The Show Must Go On” during the broadcast.
“I think at this moment in her life, the song has many meanings,” says Billboard producer Mark Bracco. “It is an amazing choice.”
This honor arrives as a silver lining on a cloudy year after her husband René Angélil passed away in January following a long battle with cancer.
The Billboard Music Awards, hosted by Ludacris and Ciara, will air on May 22 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
