James Corden’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’ to Grow Into Standalone TV Show on CBS

The success of talk show host James Corden’s late night talk show segment, Carpool Karaoke, appears to have spawned a new series.



The Hollywood Reporter reports that Corden will not be acting as host, rather one will be announced after the CBS has finalized the deal.

This news should come as no surprise as The Late Late Show segment featuring British singer Adele earned over a whopping 84 million views.

That record made the clip the most-watched viral video segment of all time.

The series would follow in the footsteps of Jimmy Fallon’s Lip Sync Battle, which originated as a bit on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.


Corden recently opened up about how instrumental his first Carpool Karaoke guest, Mariah Carey was in launching the now-infamous segment.
