President Barack Obama joked in April about checking items off his
“something-that-rhymes-with-bucket list.”
While he was referring to his
second-term freedom to push initiatives like normalizing relations with
Cuba, Obama has been piling up “firsts” since winning reelection — like
becoming the first sitting president to visit Alaska’s Arctic region.
The White House denies that it has a designated staffer to find suitable
firsts for Obama’s last two years in office, but the list of
unprecedented appearances, travels and tweets keeps growing. Here are
