According to the ever reliable 9to5Mac, Apple is (was?) set to surprise everyone this week by announcing not that the new iPhones will have Force Touch like the Apple Watch and MacBook Pro ranges, but that they will be receiving the second generation of Force Touch.
Apple will apparently label the technology ‘3D Touch Display’ and the key difference from Force Touch as we know it will be its ability to distinguish three distinct touches, not two:
- A standard tap
- A press
- A strong press
The repercussions of this are significant…source:Gordon kelly
