Shock Poll: Trump’s Black Support Grows 6X in Week

The Los Angeles Times/USC Dornsife national tracking poll of the presidential campaign picked up a sharp uptick in African-American support for Republican nominee Donald J. Trump, which it now pegs at 14.6 percent.
When the “Daybreak” poll began July 10, Trump‘s support among black voters was 4.6 percent and he fluctuated between 5.4 percent Aug. 1 and 2.5 percent Aug. 11.

Trump on Clinton: 'She took a short-circuit in the brain'

Windham, New Hampshire (CNN)Donald Trump pumped up his attacks on Hillary Clinton's character Saturday night by suggesting that the former secretary of state is not mentally fit to be president."She took a short-circuit in the brain. She's got problems," Trump said, seizing on Clinton's explanation that she "short-circuited" a recent answer about her truthfulness in discussing her email server.

Trump Rally Protest Intensifies As Roads Are Blocked, Police Window Smashed
A protest outside of Donald Trump's rally at the Orange County Amphitheatre intensified on Thursday night when protestors blocked roads and smashed the window of a police cruiser, the Los Angeles Times reports. According to the newspaper, residents also threw rocks at motorists, put holes in the tires of a police SUV, and even attempted to flip a police vehicle as a proclamation of their opposition to the GOP front-runner. The protest occurred after Trump's rally had ended.

Update: Ted Cruz has announced former presidential candidate Carly Fiorina as his running mate in the 2016 election, more than two months before the Republican National Convention is scheduled to officially nominate a candidate.“One of the most solemn choices we make is the choice of selecting a vice president,” he began his speech, going on to cite values of knowledge, judgment, and character that would be necessary in a vice president.“After a great deal of time and thought, after a great deal of consideration and prayer, I have come to the conclusion that if I am nominated to be the president of the United States, that I will run on a ticket with my vice presidential nominee, Carly Fiorina,” he said.
