Kelly Ripa Takes Another Little Jab at Michael Strahan Drama

By Kit Bowen.Nope, still not over it.Live! host Kelly Ripa has been flying solo for almost a month now after former co-host Michael Strahan left to join Good Morning America full time – and let’s just say, she’s still a little sore about it.
On Tuesday’s show, the subject of Ripa’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame came up, and guest co-host Joel McHale asked, “Is it weird to think people are walking on top of you right now?”


Kelly quickly replied, “No. I’ve gotten used to that.” McHale laughed, while the audience didn’t know how to respond. Ripa reassured them, “It’s okay.”
No doubt Ripa was referring to the fact she had no idea Strahan was leaving Live! until moments before it was publicly announced. Since sending Strahan off with a warm farewell on May 13, she’s acted in a professional manner. But clearly there’s still some lingering hurt feelings for the disrespect.


Ripa is currently looking for a new permanent co-host as fun guest hosts like McHale, Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper are filling in.

“I like having a partner,” Kelly told People. “I don’t think it works otherwise. I need someone sitting next to me… Our show is one based on chemistry and camaraderie and trust. All those things don’t just happen; it doesn’t fall out of the sky. It takes a lot of work, and it takes a group discussion.”
