Melissa Joan Hart Shares Her Simple Health Hacks

Mom on the move! As an actress and mother of three, Melissa Joan Hart has to find creative ways to fit in workouts and nutritious meals, and she’s sharing her health hacks with Us Weekly.


“It’s really important to take care of your diet, to drink your water and to make sure you get some exercise every day,” the 39-year-old, who lost 40 pounds with Nutrisystem in 2014, tells Us.
Although she doesn’t always have time to hit the gym, the mother of Mason, 10, Braydon, 8, and Tucker, 3 (with musician husband Mark Wilkerson), incorporates fitness into her daily routine. “I try to do little things around the house,” she says. “I have my kids — those are my dumbbells!” For example, Hart does squats while lifting Tucker, and calf raises while cooking or waiting in line at the bank.
Her diet is equally important. “One of my favorite sayings is, ‘You cannot out-train bad nutrition,’” the actress explains. To keep off the weight she dropped with Nutrisystem, Hart swaps pasta for zucchini noodles and snacks on kale chips.
