Meadow Walker Receives $10.1 From Roger Rodas Estate

Meadow Walker was awarded a $10.1 settlement from the estate of Roger Rodas, who was driving the Porsche at the time of the crash that killed both him and her father, Paul Walker, in Santa Clarita, CA on November 20, 2013.

Meadow, who is 17-years-old, will receive $7.2 million of that total with the remaining portion going to her attorney, Jeff Milam.
Milam commented to People on Thursday, “The amount paid by the estate of Roger Rodas into a trust for Meadow Walker only covers a fraction of what her father would have earned as an international movie star had his life not tragically been cut short.”
Through his estate, Mr. Rodas, the driver of the car, took partial responsibility for the crash. Meadow’s lawsuit against Porsche AG – a $13 billion corporation – intends to hold the company responsibly for producing a vehicle that was defective and caused Paul Walker’s death.
The settlement news comes just days after Rodas’ widowKristine lost her own legal battle against Porsche. The judge ultimately ruled in Porsche’s favor, dismissing all four allegations filed by her, including negligence, wrongful death and product liability, due to there not being enough evidence to hold Porsche liable.
However, Meadow’s separate lawsuit against Porsche is still pending and will be pursued despite the ruling against Rodas’ widow.
