Now, this is magic. After shrugging off “feminazi” criticism, Emma Watson continued on her merry way to empower women by illuminating the Empire State Building in magenta pink on International Women’s Day. First Lady of New York City Chirlane McCray was there to assist her in the celebratory occasion.
The actress spent the morning chatting with actor Forest Whitaker on behalf of her organization HeForShe, which advocates for male involvement in advancing women’s rights.
Watson responded to harsh criticism of her pursuit in feminism studies by telling her haters to respectfully back off. “Call me a ‘diva’, call me a ‘feminazi’, call me ‘difficult,’ call me a ‘First World feminist’, call me whatever you want,” she said. “It’s not going to stop me from trying to do the right thing and make sure that the right thing happens.”
