Jason Bateman drama Ozark heading to Netflix

Like his Arrested Development brother Will Arnett, Jason Bateman may be getting his own Netflix series. The streaming service is in talks to acquire Ozark. Bateman will star in, direct, and executive produce the drama.

Ozark will be Bateman’s first starring TV role since Netflix revived Arrested Development for its fourth season in 2013. The 47-year-old has starred in the two Horrible Bosses movies, lent his voice to the upcoming Zootopia, and directed a pair of films (Bad Words, The Family Fang), among other projects.

Chris Mundy (Criminal Minds) assumes showrunning duties. Dubuque and Mark Williams will serve as executive producers with Bateman.
Arnett’s dramedy series, Flaked, debuts March 11 on Netflix. Ozark aims to begin filming in spring.
