Dr. Phil Diagnoses Kanye West's Twitter Tirades on 'Corden'

Dr. Phil sat down with James Corden on The Late Late Show Monday, where the late-night host asked the TV psychologist to give his professional opinion about serial tweeter Kanye West.
"Does it really take a professional [to assess West]?" Dr. Phil quipped before admitting that he believes the rapper is blasting out his Twitter diatribes to millions of followers just for publicity.

"You can't be wrong that many times in a row unless you're working at it," Dr. Phil said. "He just gets up, says something [mimics typing] and so here we are talking about it, so it's working." Bow Wow, Corden's other guest, then stepped in to defend West's intentions. "He's just an artist who's very, very passionate, like over-passionate, in what he does," he says.

However, Dr. Phil diagnosed West's tweeting as a side effect of society's addiction to over-sharing. "Everybody thinks stuff sometimes; you'll think of something really stupid, but we're in a society now, we're in a generation now, where everybody thinks you got to have an audience for everything," Dr. Phil bemoaned.

"Listen, I don't need to know that you just brushed your teeth. And I don't need a picture of it, I don't need a film of it, but we're so narcissistic now, everybody's doing selfies of themselves brushing their teeth. I don't care! But everybody's gotta post it up … So now, you say something stupid, it just goes wall-to-wall. They're reading it in China in five seconds, so it just goes all over the place. You used to be stupid and get away with it."rollingstone
