Another huge win for Donald Trump! He clinched the victory at the Nevada caucus on Feb. 23, and now he’s one step closer to the White House.
While he was fully expected to win, the real showdown was between Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, who battled for second place. Here’s the scoop.
Donald Trump, 69, wins again! This time, he beat his competitors by a landslide in Nevada where the Republican caucus took place on Feb. 23. Donald was projected to win in the “wild west” of politics, but the real competition was Ted Cruz, 45, and Marco Rubio’s battle for runner-up. We have all the details, here.
Much to nobody’s surprise, Donald was the big winner at the 2016 Nevada caucus. According to CNN, he was the favorite to win in what they call “the wild west of politics” because he is the only anti-establishment candidate, and he came through as expected with a whopping 46% of the vote. Thanks to the win, he added another 10 delegates to his repertoire.
What was more interesting was who came in second. Ted and Marco have been at each other’s throats all week, with Ted running smear ads and Marco calling him out for photoshopping images to make him look bad, leading Ted to have to fire his top staffer. When all was said and done, it was Marco who took second place in Nevada with 23.8% of the vote to Ted”s 19.95%. It was so close that it didn’t really make a difference, since both candidates ended the day with 4 delegates. Poor Ben Carson and John Kasich got nada.
Donald has been basically sweeping the 2016 election season. He’s been called the winner of all of the debates besides the one he skipped on FOX News. He took the win at the New Hampshire and South Carolina primaries and now he’s adding to his list. Ted did beat him at the Iowa caucus, but it only got him one more delegate than Donald so it doesn’t make a huge difference. It’s looking more and more like Donald will undoubtedly be the Republican candidate in the presidential race, but only time will tell.hollywoodlife
