Rodger Bumpass: ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ Actor Arrested For DUI

Rodger Bumpass Arrested
What would SpongeBob SquarePants say?! Rodger Bumpass, who voices Squidward Tentacles on the popular children cartoon, has been busted for DUI. Not only that, he was so drunk he could hardly stand when cops took him in to custody.

Life really is better under the sea for voice actor Rodger Bumpass, cause in the real world he’s now looking at jail time for a Jan. 15 DUI arrest! The 64-year-old funnyman – who has been on SpongeBob SquarePants since 1999 –  wasn’t even driving at the time of his arrest, but out in the road leaning against his car when cops pulled up. But he drunkenly admitted he had been driving, thus earning him a trip to the clink for the night!

Rodger was allegedly leaning against his blue PT Cruiser as it was stopped in the middle of a road in Burbank, CA around 11pm. Cops pulled up and walked up to Rodger, and TMZ reports that he tried to walk away from them but was so unsteady on his feel he almost fell over!

While he wasn’t behind the wheel, he actually admitted to driving just before the police arrived and he was arrested and hauled off to jail after he failed a field sobriety test. According to the website, his blood alcohol content was more than double the legal limit of .08 in CA.
According to law enforcement records, he arrived at the Burbank jail shortly before midnight and was held on $15,000 bail. Rodger spent the night behind bars and was released shortly after 7:30 a.m. Saturday after posting bail. No court date has been set in his case so far. For first time DUI arrestees in the state, the crime is punishable by four days up to six months in jail, up to $1,000 in penalties and a suspension of one’s driver’s license for a minimum of four months. But most people end up with probation, community service and alcohol abuse meetings.hollywoodlife
