Showtime welcomes the return of Twin Peaks with new teaser

Showtime has unveiled a new teaser for the revival series, written and executive produced by David Lynch with co-creator Mark Frost,
showing the resurrection of the Twin Peaks town sign, which indicates the population has not changed since the original series (or at least, no one has bothered to change the number).

The teaser also heralds the return of Deputy Hawk (Michael Horse), who narrates the sign’s installation and the importance of the locale. The video harkens back to the original series’ serene opening credits, until a figure (which looks suspiciously like David Lynch in a suit) appears in hazy form as the music takes a momentary turn for the frenetic. But whether it’s Lynch himself,in character, or someone else entirely remains a mystery.

Kyle MacLachlan is officially set to return to the series as FBI agent Dale Cooper, and Amanda Seyfried has reportedly been cast in a “pivotal” role for the new series, which is set to hit Showtime in 2017.ew
