According to Women’s Wear Daily, Coles, one of Australia’s two largest supermarket chains, chose to remove the offending cover from their shelves — a total of 776 stores nationwide — after unhappy shoppers voiced their disapproval of the nearly nude cover photo.
“In response to feedback from our customers, many of whom shop with their children, we removed the magazine from sale earlier this week,” a spokesman for the retailer said in a statement.
On the cover in question, Kerr, 32, flaunts her enviable figure in nothing but a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps and a Swarovski necklace and earrings.
The supermodel has her arms and legs placed strategically to avoid any overt display of nudity, but the suggestive pose still leaves little to the imagination.
Approximately 3,000 copies were removed in total, which Women’s Wear Daily reports is a small dent in the magazine’s 54,000 circulation distribution. Still, Harper’s Bazaar editor Kellie Hush told WWD that she’s disappointed in Coles’ decision.

“Obviously I don’t want anything damaging to the brand and don’t think this is,” she said. “It’s disappointing, but I’m very proud of it.
