Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid give homeless hottie his big modeling break
This beach bum is suddenly haute stuff.
Venice Beach, California skater boy John Economou, 20, says he doesn’t have a roof over his head,
but is suddenly a rising star thanks to “it” models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid who discovered the hunk and hooked him up with a modeling agent.
“It was a one in a billion chance meeting those girls,” Economou tells the Daily News.
“Right off the bat they mentioned I should do modeling.”
The A-listers stumbled upon the 6-foot-3, brown eyed hottie while picnicking on the beach with their male-model pal Ansel Elgort following a commercial shoot on the Venice Beach boardwalk this past summer.
As soon as they saw him the Victoria’s Secret Angles were smitten when the sun bathing bohemian chivalrously shooed away pesky seagulls from their lunch spread.
“One of the girls said, ‘You’re cute.’ So I turned around and started conversation,” he added.
"Right off the bat they mentioned I should do modeling," says Economou, of meeting Hadid and Jenner.

Economou didn’t recognize the top models at first — but soon spotted their body guard and made the connection.
“They don’t have that rich-girl vibe,” he said.
“Gigi was bubbly and funny. She was definitely more rambunctious. Kendall was more laid back, I can see a little hippie vibe,” he added.
Jenner suggested he try his hand becoming a male model and asked her manager to help sign Economou at Two Management in Los Angeles — the agency where the “Keeping Up with the Kardashian’s” star cut her teeth on years ago.
While he hasn’t raked the big bucks just yet — or any money for that matter, Economou has been auditioning for jobs like crazy.
Economou is still crashing at the beach and at friend’s homes, although housing was offered in his contract. He travels with only a backpack full of two sets of clothes, his tooth brush and a skateboard.“I don't have an apartment; I don't have a house out here. I don’t know where I want to settle down yet,” says Economou, who saved up a mere $4,000 to move from his home in Wisconsin to Los Angeles last year.
Modeling is not exactly new for Economou. He grew up in Milwaukee and worked on local TV commercials and catalogues as a kid. The hunk moved to California to start his career after dropping out of college, he says.
But Economou doesn’t live like the average homeless person — he has an iPhone 6 that his parents pay for and sometimes rents a motel room near the beach.
That’s when he’s not hooking up with women he meets on the boardwalk.
“If a girl comes up to me and finds me attractive, I’ll give her my energy,” he says.
While they may have helped launch his career, Economou didn’t make the cut with Hadid or Jenner.
“I’m too young for them,” he claims, adding the obvious, “both of them are drop-dead gorgeous.”
He hasn’t spoken to either of them since the summer encounter, though he’s been “exchanging emails with Ansel like bros.”
