Beyoncé in 2013, D’Angelo in 2014, and now… Jeremih? The R&B singer kept up the quick-developing tradition of high-profile December surprise releases when he
shared Late Nights: The Album, his third full-length, Friday. Late Nights caps off a successful year for the artist, which includes his J. Cole-featuring single “Planez” and the song he co-wrote for Rae Sremmurd and Nicki Minaj, “Throw Sum Mo.” Jeremih’s new record includes guest appearances from Big Sean, Future, Migos, Jhene Aiko, Ty Dolla $ign, Juicy J, and Twista.
Late Nights follows Jeremih’s first two albums, 2009’s Jeremih and 2010’s All About You. While he hasn’t released an album of his own for half a decade, he’s remained a force in popular music, lending his voice to singles by the likes of 50 Cent, Nelly, Ludacris, and many more. “Somebody,” his collaboration with Dutch singer Natalie La Rose, hit no. 10 on the Hot 100 earlier this year.
Jeremih also announced that he’ll perform three shows in support of Late Nights. He’ll first stop at Manhattan’s SOB’s tonight, then hit Chicago’s Double Door on Dec. 6 and The Roxy in Los Angeles on Dec. 10.ew
