Sure, Beyoncé’s been in movies before. She even landed a Golden Globe nomination for Dreamgirls. But sources told Us that she’s looking past musicals. She even turned down The Wiz Live! According to the sources, Beyoncé wants a lead “iconic dramatic role” and is looking for a film “that’s socially relevant to African American rights.”

And according to Us, Beyoncé’s not lacking in opportunities. “She’s always being given scripts to read!” a source said.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Beyoncé’s worked outside of the music industry.  Beyoncé loves having her hands in a bunch of different pots. She also makes money through endorsements, her fashion lines, including an active wear line with Topshop that will launch in 2016, and her work with Jay Z’s Tidal.

And Beyoncé has acted before. Not only was she in Dreamgirls, but she was also in The Pink Panther, Austen Powers in Goldmember and more. She hasn’t acted since 2009’s Obsessed, but there have been recent rumors that she’s being considered for some roles, including a new Marvel superhero in the next Avengers film.

“I took a risk with acting,” Beyoncé told Cosmopolitan back in 2006. “It was scary because it was different for me. You just always have to take risks. I always go with my gut, and it’s always right. People are scared to do that.”
