Whether you’re down to “Netflix and Chill,” “Hulu and Hug” or “Network and Nap” (okay, so we made those last two up) 2015 was a great year for television.
And we here at Celebuzz have attempted to narrow down our favorite new television shows of the year into a short list (and it was a hard task!)

9. Blunt Talk – STARZ
We can all agree that Sir Patrick Stewart is a badass. So, when they gave him his own show on STARZ, created by the brilliant Jonathan Ames, nobody was going to complain. Blunt Talk is a hilarious comedy that follows news anchor Walter Blunt and his quest to dominate cable news. Stewart will not only make you laugh, but the deep emotional moments of the show will pleasantly surprise you.

8. Casual – Hulu
Casual, directed by Up in the Air’s Jason Reitman, is a new show on Hulu that follows the story of a bachelor who decides to live with his newly-divorced sister, played by the always-funny SNL alum Michaela Watkins. The witty ‘dramedy’ touches on family topics in a new and fresh way that will make you want to binge-watch it late into the night.

7. Blindspot – NBC
Blindspot is a new show that has been generating a surprisingly positive critical response. Starring Jaimie Alexander, the story chronicles a woman who was dropped off in the middle of Times Square in a duffle bag covered in tattoos, and the FBI’s quest to solve the crime her tattoos allude to. “Alexander is able to make us empathize with Jane’s emotional upheaval while still creating a heroine who is believably feisty and capable,” writes USA Today.

6. Daredevil – Netflix
The rave reviews of Netflix’s Daredevil have been almost impossible to avoid. Marvel’s show follows Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox), attorney by day and vigilante by night. Its 98% on Rotten Tomatoesshould be enough reason alone to tune into this addicting cinematic action series that Slate simply calls, “the best superhero TV series” they’ve ever seen.

5. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend – The CW
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is being hailed as a show that’s just crazy enough to work. Starring Rachel Bloom, the show follows a successful woman who decides to impulsively pick up and move to southern California after running into her ex. The hilarious musical numbers set this show apart from the rest, and if you don’t believe us, just watch “The Sexy Getting Ready Song.”

4. The Last Man On Earth - FOX
When Will Forte and Kristen Schaal team up, they can do no wrong.The Last Man On Earth, now in its second season, is a show about what happens when there are no more people left on the planet, and (pretty much) anything goes. Forte’s character always seems to be recovering from his bad decisions in the best ways possible.

3. Sense8 – Netflix
Sense8 is unlike any show that has come before it. Directed by the legendary Wachowskis, the series follows eight people in very different stages in life who are somehow connected to one another. Sense8 includes stunning locations all across the world, and the amazing ensemble cast will make you laugh, cry, and everything in between.

2. Better Call Saul – Netflix
When everyone heard Saul was getting his own Breaking Bad spinoff series, there were mixed thoughts. But what followed was an insanely popular series with a massive viewership. With the ever-amazing Bob Odenkirk taking the lead, the New York Times says calls Better Call Saul “better than good: It’s delightful– in a brutal, darkly comic way.” It also has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, sooo…

1. Master of None – Netflix
That brings us to one of the most talked-about new shows on television, Aziz Ansari’s Master of None. The show’s hilarious and innovative method of storytelling explores topics like race in television, gender stereotypes and what it’s like to be the child of immigrant parents. Another show with a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the San Francisco Chronicle calls Ansari, “a comic master who, with co-creatorAlan Yang, has crafted a sly, smart and, most of all, really funny comedy you won’t want to miss.”celebuzz
