Lily Aldridge at last year's Victoria's Secret show in London
LILY ALDRIDGE has been chosen to wear this year's multi-million-pound Fantasy Bra at the Victoria's Secret show. The model announced the news today on her Instagram account, enthusing:
"I can't believe it's finally been announced! Thank you so much Victoria's Secret for this amazing honour! I love you all so much." The piece was created by international jeweller Mouawad and is valued at more than $2 million, featuring over 6,500 precious gems - including diamonds, blue topaz, yellow sapphires and pink quartz set in 18-karat gold.
Aldridge made her Victoria's Secret debut in 2009, and will walk in her seventh show next week in New York. The American model follows in the footsteps of Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio, who last year each wore a bejewelled creation at the show. Aldridge, who has never worn the fantasy bra before, is one of just five Angels who already held the title prior to this show - alongside Ambrosio, Lima, Behati Prinsloo and Candice Swanepoel - after the lingerie brand named 10 new Angels for 2015. The model - who is married to Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill and has a three-year-old daughter, Dixie - is part of a modelling dynasty. Her half-sister Saffron Aldridge and sister Ruby Aldridge are both models, while her mother, Laura Lyons, was a Playboy Playmate in the Seventies. vogue
