The newest film project for Emma Stone will have her taking on the role of tennis legend, Billie Jean King, in Fox Searchlight’s take on King’s infamous match against Bobby Riggs.
Battle of the Sexes focuses on the iconic 1973 showdown between former Wimbledon champ Riggs and King, who emerged victorious.

At the moment, Stone’s Crazy Stupid Love co-star, Steve Carell, is set to portray Riggs in the film.
However, this isn’t the only project centered on this iconic moment in sports history. Chernin Entertainment has their movie, Match Maker starring Will Ferrell as Riggs.
