Beyoncé is getting set to take over the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame once again.
"Beyoncé's Personal Collection," an exhibit featuring several of the mega pop-star's stunning outfits,
has been a popular draw at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since opening in summer 2014. And it's getting a new addition.
On Dec. 15, the Rock Hall will unveil an amazing gold and white, beaded, cap-sleeved dress worn by Beyoncé during a promotional video for her 2009 "I Am... World Tour." Check out photos of the dress HERE.
The gown was designed by Thierry Mugler, who produced Beyoncé's entire wardrobe for her massive 2009 trek in celebration of the "I Am... Sasha Fierce" album.
"Mugler said his concept for the tour had to do with the duality of Beyoncé being her regular self and then Sasha Fierce," says Rock Hall curator Meredith Rutledge-Borger. "They're actually the same person, but two aspects of her personality. Mugler was imagining what that would look like."
Rock purists may not like the fact Beyoncé, an R&B/pop star, takes up significant space in the museum. But Rutledge-Borger is quick to point out that the rock and roll is constantly evolving.
"We try to go with the message that rock and roll is a growing art form," Rutledge-Borger says. "It's not stagnant or stuck in the 50s or the 60s. It's going 100 miles an hour towards the future. While we are respectful and even worshipful of our past, we also want to embrace the future."cleveland
