J.Lo dressed naughty—or should we say “knotty”—for one of her ten looks as the host of the awards show.
Naked is the new orange, black, pink, blue, white—you get the point. It’s in! It could be said that Kim Kardashian paved the way for figure-hugging, next-to-nothing apparel (especially on the red carpet), but the truth is that Jennifer Lopez and her glorious curves set fashion down this path many moons ago. At the 2000 Grammy Awards, to be exact.

Stefani left her signature red lip at home and instead made her legs the center of attention. While the thick layer of ruffles covered her chest and midriff, the sheer skirt showed off her legs.
On Sunday night, Lopez outdid even her own love of the naked dress, via a handful of her ten outfit changes at the American Music Awards, many of which were made of some variation of totally see-through material. Her parade comes at the end of the year in which the naked dress reached fever pitch—from Beyonce and Kim Kardashian at the Met Gala, to Gwen Stefani on stage, to barely there looks on Taraji P. Henson and one of this year’s biggest comebacks, Jada Pinkett Smith.

The model-turned-actress wore a dress inspired by, but not from the Fall 2015 Atelier Versace collection.
It might have been the year in which Carolina Herrera said, “In life, there should be a little mystery,” after the string of near-naked ladies on the 2015 Met Gala red carpet, but it was also the year in which no one listened.
