Steps

Easy Recipe

Blend milk and nutella. Combine 1 cup (240 mL) whole milk and ⅓ cup (80 mL) Nutella in a blender.

[1] If you don't have a blender, use a large bowl and an electric mixer instead. Keep mixing until there are no gooey chocolate lumps.

Use almond milk instead for a low-dairy version.

[2] (Nutella does contain skim milk, so this is not completely dairy-free.
[3])Pour into popsicle molds or cups. Pour the mixture into popsicle molds, leaving a little rom at the top. Stick the popsicle handles into the liquid.

If you don't have popsicle molds, pour into cups and cover with plastic wrap. Poke a small hole through the plastic with a popsicle stick, dunking it in the liquid.

[4]You can use an ice cube tray to make mini-popsicles. Cover the tray with plastic wrap and stick a toothpick through it into each cube.
Freeze until hard. This usually takes about five hours. You might be able to speed this up by keeping them in the back of the freezer, where it's coldest.

Remove from molds. Fill a jug or tall bowl with warm tap water. Hold the handle of the mold and dip the other end into the water. This should loosen the popsicle and make it easier to take out.

Fancy Recipes

Use the same basic steps for each recipe. Except where noted, the recipes below use the same steps as the easy version above. Just blend or mix the ingredients until smooth, pour into popsicle molds, and freeze. The difference is the creamy, fudge-y texture, with no hard ice crystals interrupting your popsicle binge.

You can substitute dairy alternatives, but Nutella does contain skim milk already. Replacing the cream or condensed milk will remove the creamy texture.

½ cup (120 mL) Nutella
4 large, ripe bananas or 6 medium
While the popsicles freeze, toast pistachios for 6–8 minutes in a dry pan or in the oven.

[11] Freeze nuts until cold, then grind to a powder in a food processor.

[12] Roll popsicles in the powder before serving.
Optional— Puree banana on its own and create a layer popsicle, alternating dollops of Nutella and banana.
Make alcoholic popsicles. Cream liqueur keeps the smooth dairy texture, while adding a buzz of its own. Bailey's is the most commonly available option, but you can use other Irish cream liqueur brand, or even make your own. Here's how it goes:

[13]Make Nutella Popsicles Step 8.jpg
½ cup (120 mL) Irish cream liqueur
½ cup (120 mL) milk
⅓ cup (80 mL) Nutella
Note— You can increase the amount of liqueur, but the popsicles will take longer to freeze. If you go above 10% alcohol (1⅕ cup / 285 mL of Bailey's), you'll probably need chunks of banana to help it freeze.[14]

Tips

If the popsicle sticks are short, leave them out for a couple hours. Once the popsicles have frozen to a thick slush, stick the popsicle sticks halfway into them. This makes longer handles.[15]
