Happy Birthday- Drizzy

It’s Drake’s special day! On Oct. 24, Drizzy turned 29 and to celebrate the rapper’s birthday, we’re taking a look back at his crazy amazing year!

Happy Birthday, Drake! As you turn the big 2-9, let’s remember all that went down over the past year. From epic rap battles with Meek Mill to a possible love match with tennis champ Serena Williams, join us now as we celebrate his special day with a look back at his year in the spotlight.

Drizzy’s music was at the top of his game. In Feb. he released his fourth album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late via iTunes, with no prior warning or announcement. While he preferred to call it a mixtape, it rocketed to number one and was certified platinum in Aug. 2015, marking over one million sales.

On Sept. 20, 2015, Drake released a joint-mixtape with Atlanta rapper Future, called What A Time To Be Alive. It was his second number 1 album in under a year and marked the first time any rapper charted 2 number 1 albums in one year since Jay-Z did it in 2004. Way to go Drake!

But it wasn’t just music that kept Drake’s name in the news over the past year. He had an ongoing online and rap feud with Nicki Minaj‘s fiance Meek Mill. After Meek claimed last July that Drake doesn’t write his own drops, Drizzy threw the hammer down with two epic diss tracks about his rival. Drake dropped his first diss track, “Charged Up” the followed it up several days later with the release of another rap titled “Back to Back,” and threw shade at Meek’s romance with Nicki!

Drake continued to have fun at Meek’s expense. At a Sept. concert in Washington DC, the audience chanted “F–k Meek Mill” over and over to which Drizz deliciously and casually responded “Don’t worry about it, he’s already dead.”Hollywood life
