Zelda Williams Tweets She's 'Heartbroken' Over the Apparent Suicide of Jim Carrey's Girlfriend Cathriona White

Zelda Williams was left "heartbroken" when she learned Cathriona White died of an apparent suicide. "Heartbroken to continue to watch sweet,

kind souls be consumed by darkness. May it never hurt less, so we never grow numb to the loss," the daughter of the late Robin Williams tweeted on Tuesday.

Pieta House is a suicide prevention center in Ireland, where White, 28, was born. Williams, 26, lost her famous father when he took his own life at age 63 in August 2014.

White's on-again, off-again boyfriend of three years Jim Carrey issued an emotional note saying he's "deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona."

In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, the actor added: "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her."

White was "pronounced dead at 8:40 p.m. last [Monday] night at a residence," Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter tells PEOPLE. Official cause of White's death cannot be determined until an autopsy is conducted.people
