Yep, Nicki Minaj is entering the television world. ABC Family announced that Minaj is on board to executive produce and appear in a half-hour comedy based on her family’s immigration from Trinidad in the early 1990s. The comedy is set to focus on her growing up in Queens and the personal and musical evolution that led to her eventual rise to stardom, according to a press release.

Minaj teased the project beginning Monday night, tweeting and Instagramming that a “surprise” was on the way for her fans, which led to “#NickiSurprise” trending on Twitter. On Tuesday, she retweeted ABC Family’s announcement.Ew
